    Beaded Heart

Happy Saturday! The work week didn’t seem too long to me thankfully, but despite the fact that it didn’t seem to drag for me I have been so tired and just feel so burnt out. Just 5 more work days stand between me and winter break! But, like I said I’ve been feeling burnt out lately physically, mentally, emotionally – basically in all aspects of life so I really can’t wait for break so I can take a breather. With that being said, I’m sharing this tee with a beaded heart design because we can all use a little love, right? I bought this top at the same time as the…

    Watermelon Plaid

Plaid is a fall and winter style essential. Usually when we see cold weather plaid it consists of deeper, richer colors. But, today I’m going to share a lighter hued plaid top, a watermelon shade to be more exact, which was perfect for fall. Top: J.Crew | Pants: American Eagle | Shoes: Kohl’s How cute is this top? The shade is technically called melon – coral ivy, but I think the shades are very watermlon-y and let’s be real if they’re going to call it melon they’re really talking about watermelon with these colors. They’re not fooling me! The top is very lightweight and thin – it has an almost sheer-like quality. I…

    Clara Silk Chiffon

It’s back to work for me today after a long weekend away for my friend’s wedding and visiting family. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a few photos. The wedding was for my oldest friend in the world. We’ve known each other and been good friends since we were toddlers! Today, I’m sharing my wedding guest look. I wore a silk chiffon dress I got on sale from J.Crew Factory in the shade “dark cove” called the “Clara” dress. It is a rich blue color with a sweetheart neckline and blue sheer see-through material at the décolletage, shoulders, and shoulder blades/upper back in the back. The…

    Back to Work Bright Florals

As you may know my summer break recently came to an end and the school year has officially begun. I was back at work last week for a week full of in-service (workshops and meetings) and then after the long weekend for Labor Day school was officially back in session with the students coming in on Tuesday. I still remember how excited I used to be as a little kid for the first day of school. Key phrase being “used to be” as the first day of school now means I have to go to this pesky thing called work. Anyway, as a kid I hated that summer was ending…

    Floral Stitching

The weather has turned from cool, autumn days to pretty chilly seemingly overnight. To top it off the past two days have been windy and a little rainy. Therefore, my color palette hasn’t been the brightest as of late. This could also be affected by the fact that I’ve been so tired lately! I wore this grey 3/4 sleeve top yesterday with dark jean skinnies and boots. The top has white floral stitching on the front. The brightness of the white stands out perfectly against the blue-ish grey of the material. The jeans look almost black in these pictures, but they are actually a very dark blue denim so my…
