Watermelon Plaid
Plaid is a fall and winter style essential. Usually when we see cold weather plaid it consists of deeper, richer colors. But, today I’m going to share a lighter hued plaid top, a watermelon shade to be more exact, which was perfect for fall.
Top: J.Crew | Pants: American Eagle | Shoes: Kohl’s
How cute is this top? The shade is technically called melon – coral ivy, but I think the shades are very watermlon-y and let’s be real if they’re going to call it melon they’re really talking about watermelon with these colors. They’re not fooling me!
The top is very lightweight and thin – it has an almost sheer-like quality. I first saw this top in stores in the summer and it was around $80! I really loved the top but I couldn’t bring myself to buy it for that price tag. Plus, I was with one of my friends who is a bit more careful with her spending habits than I am so I felt like I really couldn’t/shouldn’t get it. But then, a few weeks later I saw that J.Crew was having a big sale so I checked to see if the shirt was available and how much it was. I was excited to see the shirt was still available and on sale for less than $30! Of course, I had to get it for that price! That was also the same time I bought the beautiful dress I wore to my friend’s wedding last month, which I wrote about here, which was also a steal.
Side note: these pants are amazing. They are so comfortable, stretchy, and fit perfectly. I’ve put more pairs in more colors on my Christmas wish list!
I love the colors of this plaid shirt and am thrilled I was able to actually get my hands on it after initially passing on it.
