    Floral Maxi/Kimono

Any clothing item that can be worn multiple ways is a winner in my book. When I saw these button down maxi dresses being worn on social media I was intrigued, because it could be worn as a dress or as a kimono/duster type sweater. Genius! After looking at a ton of reviews and finding a print that I liked, I got this fun, bright floral print from Amazon. It is a little long, but with wedges, it’s perfect. I love that the buttons don’t go all the way down, but you can also button or leave unbuttoned as many as you want depending on how much leg you want…

    Sheer Detailed Kimono

I survived my first “real” day back at work yesterday! I have real in quotes because technically I’ve been back at work for 2 weeks already, but yesterday was the first day with students. The day went pretty smoothly, but my throat is sore from getting used to talking all day long and loudly again. Happens to me every year! Since I’m exhausted from work – still have to get used to waking up at 5:30 again – this post will be short. Two weekends ago I met up with my friend for brunch at Division Cafe in downtown Somerville. I wore this sheer kimono with flower detailing that I…

Restyled: Patchwork Kimono + Tencel Shorts

I’ve got another restyling for you today! The last time I wore this patchwork kimono on the blog was way back in 2014 so it’s been a while. Last time I wore it on here I wore it with a grey marled tank top, denim capris and black flip flops. This time around I wore it with a pale purple tank top, tencel shorts, and pin striped, fringed slides. Kimono: Forever21 | Tank Top: J.Crew Factory | Shorts: American Eagle | Slides: Land’s End I love how swapping out one or two items can create a whole new look. I wore this outfit a few weeks ago on a particularly…

    Restyled: Lace Kimono

Did you guys watch last night’s Game of Thrones season finale?! So many things to talk about! But you’ll have to wait for my thoughts on the season in tomorrow’s post so I can compose all my thoughts. Plus it gives the people who didn’t get to watch it on time a chance to watch before they accidentally read my spoilers! For today’s post though, I’m sharing my restyling of this lace kimono that I first wore on here 2 years ago. In that post I wore this fringed lace kimono with a floral romper and I absolutely loved that pairing. But this time I wore it with denim shorts…

    Floral Cocoon Kimono

On a cold day, what’s better than wrapping yourself up in a cocoon sweater? Combining the cocoon sweater with a kimono! On a recent Sunday spent at home I wanted to wear this floral cocoon kimono. When deciding what color top to wear underneath, I decided to wear this light blue green tee to pick up on the light blue colors in the floral design. And I finished the look with grey leggings. Cocoon Kimono: American Eagle | Tee: J.Crew Factory | Leggings: American Eagle The blue in the floral design of the cocoon kimono is so subtle compared to the vibrant berry color of the sweater so by choosing this…

    Floral Fringed Kimono

Combine the color teal, a floral print, and fringe – roll them all into one kimono and that’s basically how I was immediately sold on this kimono. The print is so pretty and the color combination works so well together. Kimono: Just Lex Boutique | Romper: H&M Fringe detailing is so fun and I love that the fringe here is a bit different than your normal style because it has a kind of net detail to it. I chose to pair this floral fringed kimono with a deeper colored romper. This maroon romper from H&M has a space-dye look to the material and is a nice, casual, soft cotton romper. I chose it…

    Spacedye Knit Kimono

When I go to the movie theater I like to be comfortable since I’ll be sitting there for a few hours. I also like to wear layers because oftentimes it’s pretty chilly in the theater. When I went to see The Jungle Book last month, I wore this spacedye knit kimono from LOFT which provided some warmth and comfort while at the theater. The structure and spacedye style of this kimono/cardigan gives me retro feels. I feel like this is just the style of sweater you would see in the 60s on a woman with a beehive hairstyle. I love this kimono. It’s so soft and it’s got pockets! Anything with pockets…

    Rainy Day Pops of Color

I hope everyone had a good Halloween weekend! For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel like the weekend went by in the blink of an eye – not that I would say no to an extra day off if it was offered! While I felt rested over the weekend, I hardly slept last night because I had too much anxiety over the World Series game! Normally I’m a Yankees fan but since they weren’t in it I did want the other New York team, the Mets, to win and last night was definitely a heartbreaker. I always get so anxious during these types of games and…

    Sheer Kimono

Kimono cardigans started to really gain popularity last spring and they are still going strong this year which is good because I’m still loving the look. I bought two last year from Forever21 which have been both made appearances on here last summer and I picked up a few more since last summer #sorrynotsorry. I wore this sheer, floral kimono earlier this week and it gave me such warm summer vibes. Kimono: Express Tank Top: Forever21 Shorts: SO via Kohls Necklace: La Cle Purse: Coach I love all the colors happening on this kimono. The light, warm colors of the floral design pair beautifully with the soft, baby pink sheerness of…
