Green Blouse + Ribbed Pencil Skirt

The holidays are in full swing! I’ve been wearing a lot of holiday/festive clothing lately and it’s the best. I love taking advantage of this time to break out my Christmas sweatshirts, sweaters, and other clothing that has Christmas-y colors. The outfit I’m wearing today is the perfect work outfit and it works for the holidays. I wore a kelly green utility blouse – the infamous Portofino blouse – from Express. This style blouse is available year-round from Express in all different colors, prints, etc. I wore it with a ribbed pull-on pencil skirt, heels, and a bedazzled lariat necklace. This is a great office look and add on the…

    Side Button Pencil Skirt

It’s another button filled day with the skirt I’m sharing today. Yesterday I shared a sweater with black piping and button detailing. Today I’m sharing a grey pencil skirt with black side button detailing. It’s super comfortable and perfect for work. And the best part is that it is stretchy and a pull-on skirt! I paired this skirt with a chartreuse sweater. It was too long to wear untucked and too bulky to tuck in, so I tied it up in a twist with a hair tie and tucked it under. Sweater: American Eagle | Skirt: LOFT (here) | Tights: American Eagle | Boots: DSW I paired the skirt and…

    Restyled: Plush Jersey Pencil Skirt

Back in 2016 I shared this plush jersey pencil skirt and I recently wore it to work so I thought it’d be fun to share a restyling since I haven’t done one of those on the blog in a while. Last time I shared it on here I wore it with a purple button down cardigan and black wedge booties. This time around I wore it with a light purple pocket front tee, light grey boyfriend sweater, and black booties. Sweater: Express | Tee: Aerie | Skirt: Express | Boots: DSW I definitely like this styling better than how I styled it in that old blog post. Since the skirt is…

    Diamante Pencil Skirt

Yesterday was my first full day in The Cape (Cape Cod) and I’ll be writing all about it in tomorrow’s post, but it was a good day. I got a little sunburned, but what is most annoying about it is that it’s just on one shoulder and side of my neck. That’s going to make wearing the dress and off-the-shoulder top I have planned for later this week really interesting. I’m hoping it fades quickly and doesn’t turn into a weird tan either! Today I’ve got a fun pencil skirt to share with you. It’s a navy blue skirt with diamante print and a drawstring waist. Yes, to stretchy waists!…

    Plush Jersey Pencil Skirt

I love the look of pencil skirts, but I don’t wear them often because I don’t always find them to be the most practical work style staple. Why? Because I’m walking around, standing, sitting, standing, sitting, walking some more, all day long as a teacher so I need to be comfortable. While most skirts can be comfortable, pencil skirts aren’t always because they are more constricting. This plush jersey pencil skirt is more constricting than most because it goes down to my calves so movement is seriously limited! What made up for this little issue was that the skirt is made out of the softest jersey material ever. Ever. It…

    Pencil Skirt OOTD

Pencil skirts are a favorite work look of mine for the fall. I think no matter what kind of top you’re wearing, a pencil skirt automatically dresses up a look. The past few days have been noticeably cooler out and the remainder of the week looks to be in the 70s, but it’s still not cold, so skirts and dresses with bare legs are still an option. Sorry the picture came out a little bit blurry, but you get the idea of the outfit. Sweater: Mossimo via Target Sleeveless Top: Shirred Tank in Berry Paradise – Banana Republic Skirt: AGB via Macy’s Shoes: Chinese Laundry via DSW Watch: Anne Klein These shoes are super comfy! They…
