    May 2020 Favorites

Well if 2020 hasn’t already been bad enough, May has just been another dumpster fire! Things are absolutely crazy right now. We’re still getting through the pandemic and the country is literally and figuratively on fire. I hope you are all staying safe through all of these hard times. For lighter new, I have a round-up of things I loved in May. First, did you watch the first season of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist? I loved the show and I’m waiting to hear if it’s picked up for a 2nd season on NBC. I hope so! During the season finale, the cast sang “American Pie” and I was obsessed with their rendition…

    Quarantine Binging #2

A few weeks ago I shared the tv shows I’d been binge watching during quarantine. Well, I’m already back with more shows (and 1 movie) that I’ve finished since then. So let’s get to it! The Last Kingdom I’ve written about this Netflix show in year’s past and season 4 recently dropped. I watched the season over the course of a week or so. I didn’t want to rush through it and I was pretty busy at the time with work so I was only watching 1-2 episodes a night. I love this show and if you’re unfamiliar, it follows main character Uhtred in England in the like 800-900s. He…

    July 2019 Favorites

Well, this summer is truly flying by and I’m not too happy about it. Why do summers always fly by? Especially as a teacher? There was so much I wanted to do this summer – a lot more writing than I’ve done (which is close to nothing), but I have a little bit of time left to maybe at least start my project and not be a total waste. Anyway, let’s get to my July favorites. There have been a few things this month that I didn’t just really like, but I seriously loved and became maybe, slightly obsessed with. First up, Pepperidge Farm Sausalito Cookies. It’s been a long…

    Keanu Reeves – Binge Watch

I’ve been on summer break from work for 2 weeks now and while these past 2 weeks have been pretty busy (mainly with lots of appointments that I didn’t have time for during the school year) I have started to have some time to just watch tv and not do anything. In the past 4 days I have had an unintentional (or maybe intentional) Keanu Reeves marathon. I watched John Wick and John Wick Chapter 2 and all 3 Matrix movies. This led me to want to write a post about how much I love Keanu Reeves! So I haven’t seen all his movies, but I’ve seen a good amount. I’ve…

Game of Thrones: The Final Season & The Last Watch

Now that we’ve had a week and a half to digest the final episode of Game of Thrones and the documentary, The Last Watch, has aired I’m ready to share my thoughts. First, let’s talk about the documentary. If you didn’t watch The Last Watch, I highly recommend it. I only got around to watch it yesterday because I was away over the weekend, but if you’re a GoT fan then it is well worth the 2 hour watch. It gives you a behind the scenes look at the final season – focusing on the production process, prosthetics, costumes, visual and special effects, extras, sets, etc. You think you know…

    April 2019 Favorites

April flew by in a flash and I guess because of that I only have a few favorites this month. Of these few favorites a few of them have to do with entertainment, one is a skincare item, and one is an experience. Let’s get all the entertainment things out of the way first. This is technically from March, but I didn’t watch it until April so that’s why it’s an April favorite. On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon and a few members of The Roots filmed themselves singing “In the Still of the Night” under the Brooklyn Bridge as an homage to doo-wop. I loved it! Next up, a…

    5 Favorite Sandra Bullock Movies

The other day Chrissy Teigen tweeted that she has this thing where she purposely won’t watch movies that are super popular. Just something in her won’t allow her to do it. I think she even joked that she needs to see a therapist for her desire to “withhold joy” from her life. Funny thing is, I can be the same way! Yes, I love movies and tv and if it’s something I really want to see then I will see it. But a lot of times when I haven’t gotten to see something and then everyone is talking about how amazing it is – it loses its appeal to me. It’s…

    Tearjerker Movies – Part 2

Over 2 years ago I wrote a post about a few movies that, without fail, will always make me cry. Although it was written back in 2016, it still gets consistent views today – as do some of my other movie posts so I guess I need to write more of those! My last post on tearjerker movies included Hachi, Stepmom, My Girl, Beaches, and Letters to Juliet. I thought it was time to do a round 2! This time around I have a mix of old and new movies. I’m talking about really old – before I was born, in to my childhood, and then within the past 2…

    Beauty & the Beast

Have you seen Beauty & the Beast yet? I know it just came out this past weekend, but I know a bunch of people who already saw it – myself included! I just couldn’t wait so I had to go after work on Friday. If you follow me on Instagram then you might already know that I absolutely loved the movie. I had high expectations for this movie and I am happy to report that not only did the movie meet my expectations but exceeded them. I loved that the movie had the basis of the original animated movie, but fleshed out the characters and background stories more. I really enjoyed the fact…

Review: Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them

It’s always hard to go back to work or school after a long weekend or holiday break so here’s hoping today goes by smoothly and quickly! Thanksgiving went by in a flash and as you all know the second Thanksgiving is over it is Christmas decorating and shopping at full steam ahead. I got my first dose of Christmas cheer this past weekend. Aside from decorating my house and Christmas tree, I met up with my friend to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and walked around the Christmas market in Bethlehem, PA. Some pictures and a short video on that in a few days! Today, however, I am…
