    Slow Cooker Coq au Vin

As we get closer to fall, you may be doing more slow cooker cooking. Last winter I made this slow cooker coq au vin recipe I found on the Williams Sonoma website and saved it to share for this fall. I followed the Williams Sonoma recipe pretty closely the only changes I made were that I added potatoes and when I took photos of this I didn’t have kitchen twine so I just fished out the bay leaf, thyme sprigs, parsley sprigs, and leek at the end. For this recipe you’ll need: Pinot Noir fresh flat leaf parsley sprigs fresh thyme sprigs bay leaf leek bacon chicken legs salt &…

Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich

I survived the first week back to school! It actually went pretty smoothly, but it was tiring especially with all my condo stress, but it’s the weekend and I’m off to a photoshoot with Lauren today. Then I’m off to do some home renovation shopping. I am not making or eating this slow cooker bbq pulled pork sandwich today, but I am showing it to you because it would be the perfect late summer meal or even for game day as football season is upon us. I pretty much followed the recipe that is linked above. The things I did differently were that I used pork shoulder instead of pork…

    Slow Cooker Boeuf Bourguignon

I love a good slow cooker recipe any time of the year, but especially during the colder/winter months because slow cooker recipes are usually heartier. Last winter I made a slow cooker boeuf bourguignon and it was so good! I didn’t get a chance to share it last winter on here so I’m sharing it now since we are just at the start of the cold weather. I don’t remember which recipe/website I followed when I made this last winter and it’s driving me crazy that I can’t find it saved on my Pinterest or in my bookmarks. This oneΒ seems like the closest to what I made except it’s not…

    Bread Bowl Beef Stew

Recently one of my friends shared that he has a friend who constantly likes and shares Tasty videos on Facebook and he asked them if they ever make any of these things to which his friend replied no. Well I have! I think I’ve only made two things that I saw on Tasty, but this is one of them. Beef stew inside a bread bowl. Who doesn’t love beef stew? Besides vegetarians, that is. Plus – bread! I love bread. I could never give it up. I’m not going to go into detail on how I made this because you can just watch the Tasty video (here). I pretty much…

    Slow Cooker Cheesy Beef Pasta

It’s winter, which means it’s definitely slow cooker season. I’m sharing an easy, hearty, and delicious slow cooker meal today – a cheesy beef pasta.Β Usually when I find a recipe I change it a little (or a lot) to suit my tastes or needs but I actually didn’t change anything from the original recipe this time which I found hereΒ via Pinterest so you can look up all the measurements and things there! But I’ll be sharing some of the basic points of this recipe and the pictures of course! There are a lot of ingredients for this simple dish but trust me, it’s easy. First, I browned the beef with…

    Tuscan Chicken Stew

A few weeks ago I wrote about breaking out the slow cooker for the chillier weather. That was for my Chicken Tortilla Soup post — this time around, I tried my hand at a Tuscan Chicken Stew. I was looking for slow cooker recipes and came across this oneΒ from Sweet Peas & SaffronΒ and it looked pretty straight forward, but I did changeΒ the recipe up a little bit. I cut up all the vegetables that had to go into the slow cooker. The recipe calls for baby potatoes, but I used red skin potatoes and cut them in quarters. The original recipe has you put the raw chicken right into the…

    Chicken Tortilla Soup

Now that it’s getting cooler, it’s time to take out the slow cooker. For my first slow cooker meal of the season, I made chicken tortilla soup. This was my first time making it, but it’s been on my “to-make” list for a while because I love ordering it when I’m out. I love slow cooker recipes, because they are usually fairly straight forward and once you pop all the ingredients in you can leave it for hours (for the most part) while you do other things. The recipe I used was from All Recipes. For the most part, I stuck with the original recipe, but did make a few…
