    Manhattan Clam Chowder

    Are you a soup person? One of my favorite soups is manhattan clam chowder. I don’t drink it that often, but when I do I usually get the Campbell’s version. However, a while ago I made it myself and it was pretty easy! I believe the recipe I used was from the Food Network, with a few minor changes. The recipe calls for 5 cups of clam juice or five 8 ounce bottles and 7 cloves of garlic. I cut down on the garlic to 5 cloves and I substituted 2 of the clam juice bottles for chicken broth.     Chicken Tortilla Soup

    Now that it’s getting cooler, it’s time to take out the slow cooker. For my first slow cooker meal of the season, I made chicken tortilla soup. This was my first time making it, but it’s been on my “to-make” list for a while because I love ordering it when I’m out. I love slow cooker recipes, because they are usually fairly straight forward and once you pop all the ingredients in you can leave it for hours (for the most part) while you do other things.
