#fbf Walking on a Jetty
I thought of this photo when I was playing Taylor Swift’s “Hoax” on repeat a few weeks ago. Lauren (the professional photographer I work with once in a while) took this photo of me while I was walking on the jetty in Asbury Park two or three summers ago. Anyway, the song is definitely a mood, but I love it. The following lines in particularly make me think of this photo: “Stood on the cliffside, screaming give me a reason Your faithless love’s the only hoax I believe in” A little sad and slightly depressing, sorry! But, kind of fitting for my first week back to work in less than…

#fbf Seaside Stroll
I met up with Lauren yesterday for a late summer photoshoot and we got so lucky with the weather. It rained in the morning, was cloudy for most of the afternoon, and then the clouds parted and it was a beautiful evening. The same thing happened during our summer photoshoot at a small beach last year, when the photo below was taken. It poured the first half of the day and then became a gorgeous evening. With my summer break winding down, I thought it was a good time to share this throwback photo. ““The ocean is everything I want to be. Beautiful, mysterious, wild, and free.” — Unknown

#fbf Kyoto
Did you have to cancel summer travel plans due to the pandemic? I was supposed to go to Ireland in July and had to cancel that, unfortunately. I was literally supposed to leave next week – on the 3rd or 4th I believe. I’m hoping to at least do a weekend trip somewhere, maybe in the New England area since it’s driving distance from me. If you haven’t heard, New Jersey (where I live), New York, and Connecticut announced a joint travel advisory. Anyone traveling to one of these 3 neighboring states from a state with high COVID rates has to quarantine for 14 days. So if I were to…

#fbf Martha’s Vineyard
Sharing another flashback Friday today. So many people have been sharing throwbacks lately, back when times were simpler and more carefree. With it about to be Memorial Day Weekend, things are feeling extra strange. Normally, the holiday weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer. Lots of barbecues, people going to the beach, opening up their pools etc. But, here in NJ, we’re still pretty much in lockdown even though very few restrictions have been eased. Beaches are open now, but social distancing has to be practiced and capacity is limited. State parks are open, but again the same restrictions apply. Non-essential retail is allowed to reopen for curbside pickup only…

#fbf Morning Sun
Happy Friday! I hope you are staying healthy out there in the craziness going on with CoronaVirus. I have off from work today, but it was already a scheduled day off for the school after yesterday’s parent-teacher conferences. With all the schools around us closing for at least 2 weeks, it is looking likely that my school will also close and switch over to 100% digital learning temporarily. I hope with so many people working from home and schools doing online learning for the next couple of weeks will help slow the spreading of the virus and things can start to calm down! Amidst all of this I thought it…

#fbf Snowy Tree
I wrote yesterday about how I’m hoping for at least one snow day before winter’s over. It’s been an unusually quiet winter and while winters that have constant snow storms gets annoying and tiring, it’s also so weird to not have any snow! We had snow twice I think this season but both times it was very little and pretty much gone the next day. I just need a dose of winter prettiness and not just cold, bleak winter days. And a snow day from work wouldn’t hurt either! So for my Flashback Friday, I’m throwing it back to 2 years ago when we had a snow storm and the…

Throwback Graphic Tee
Graphic tees make great casual tees and they’re extra great when they’re super soft and perfect for running around in as well as lounging in. When I saw this tee at Target, I had to have it as it’s the perfect nostalgic tee. I used to play Mario Kart all the time with my brother and our best friends that lived across the street. I’m still great friends with my childhood friend even though she moved to Georgia in 4th grade. In fact, I don’t think we started playing our marathon sessions of Mario Kart until after she had moved. You see, she still had a ton of family that lived…
