    Yea or Nay: Draped Sleeves

It’s been a while since I’ve done a Yea or Nay post so I’m back today talking about draped sleeves. Sometimes I like draped sleeves and sometimes I don’t. Let me explain. Most of the time I think draped sleeves on a top look great for a flowy look. But then every once in a while the sleeves are too wide and the look isn’t very flattering. This top, however, features draped sleeves that really work in my opinion. What really makes them work is the bow cuff for a more tailored look. Top: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohls Watch: Fossil So what do you think of draped sleeves?

    Yea or Nay: Anchor Print

Anchor print may be associated with summer, but I’m a fan year-round. I have no objections to wearing the print whether it’s June and you’re headed down by the water or December and Christmas lights are up. I love the button down Portofino shirts from Express and this blue & white anchor print shirt is perfect for a nice casual look without looking too casual if that makes sense. What are your thoughts on anchor print?

    Yea or Nay: Lattice-Back Top

We’re now into the second half of the week and I cannot wait for the weekend. It’s been a busy and stressful week so far, but let’s not dwell on the negatives – we’re 2 days away from the weekend! A few weeks ago I wore this hi-lo top with a lattice back. I personally love interesting backs to tops and dresses so this top with a lattice design for the upper-half of the back is right up my alley. I picked this top up from Marshalls for some ridiculously good price like $10 or something like that. So the price combined with this lattice design in the back really…

    Yea or Nay: Buttoned Backs

I had a hard time coming up with the title for this post. What do you call clothes that have buttons down the back? I don’t know of any term for it! Anyway, my latest Yea or Nay for you guys is the buttoned back look. I’m a big fan of zippered backs as I know many other people are too, but what about buttons? Dress: JCrew Factory Watch: Michael Kors Let me tell you a little story about this dress. I bought it a year or two ago from the factory store and it was one of those last minute purchases. I am known to often buy things without going into…

    Yea or Nay: Fruit Print

A few months ago when we were transitioning from spring to summer, there was a lot of talk about fruit print on the fast track to popularity. Everything I saw online about this summer trend featured really bright and bold fruit prints, which I think are fun but not necessarily something I’d wear out for fear of looking like a little kid. But then I saw this cute tee at JCrew Factory featuring pineapples. What I love about this top besides that the cotton is so soft and lightweight, is that the pineapples aren’t some bold, cartoonish color but instead are gold foil print. Tee: JCrew Factory Denim Shorts: LC Lauren…

    Yea or Nay: Perforated Details

Perforated details in fashion seems to be a growing trend — not a huge trend, but still I’ve been seeing it pop up here and there, especially in handbags. The tank top I wore over the weekend has an inverted v shape perforation as well as some perforated detailing at the shoulders. Top: Love on a Hanger via Nordstrom Rack Shorts: SO via Kohl’s I like that the perforated details on this top are limited to the inverted V in the center and on the shoulders instead of all over. It helps to break up the busy geometric pattern. Since it is also not all over the top, I could get…

    Yea or Nay: Muscle Tanks

I hope you all had a nice weekend and are ready to start a new week! I’m staring this Monday off with a new addition to my Yea or Nay series. Muscle tanks are pretty popular in the summer for both guys and girls in the summer, but since I’m a girl that’s all I’m going to focus on! So muscle tanks characteristically have large arm holes so the holes dip lower than your normal tank. This varies with each tank top, where some just have slightly larger arm holes and some go as low as the midsection area. Typically, you can wear a sports bra, bathing suit, bralette, or…

    Yea or Nay: Asymmetrical Cardigans

Happy Wednesday! There’s so much going on with it being the end of the school year that I keep forgetting what day of the week it is and I keep thinking it’s later on in the week than it really is. But, it’s only Wednesday and I still have a few days to get everything on my checklist completed before the last day of school. I’m definitely on track to have all my grading and other curriculum related things I’m required to do, done by the end of the week. Then, it’s on to other things like preparing to host the graduation for the senior class next week! In the…

    Yea or Nay: Scuba Knit

How is everyone’s week going? I was exhausted at work yesterday. I guess traveling cross country for a weekend will do that to you! Luckily, it’s already Wednesday! It’s been a while since I’ve added to my Yea or Nay series so I thought I would write one up today based on the scuba knit skirt I wore yesterday to work. I feel like scuba knit has been around for a while, but I’ve only heard people really talking about it recently. Top: JCrew Factory Skirt: Apt. 9 via Kohls Shoes: Chinese Laundry via DSW Watch: Anne Klein After doing some research online, I found out that scuba knit is often…
