I love when Polyvore has these challenges for “tricky trends” because it’s either something I personally don’t find tricky and have some ideas for already or it makes me really think about what I would do if I wanted to wear said trend.
The sheer blouse trend is something I wear, however, I always wear a tank top or camisole underneath. Many work blouses tend to be of the sheerer variety. But, something I see a lot of in street styles, is a sheer blouse with just a colored bra underneath. Obviously, that’s not something I can get away with at work and probably not to a regular, casual gathering either for fear of looking out of place. But, maybe on a night out or if I’m doing something that’s an edgier or more fashion forward event, I could pull it off. One thing that I think is key for this look though is to wear a bralette or a bustier type bra instead of a normal bra. Why? Well the purpose isn’t to just show off your underwear – the purpose is to create this illusion of “less is more” but creating an edgy look by wearing a contrasting color underneath such as this black bralette I chose underneath this sheer white blouse.
This is a look that I’d love to try to pull off this summer. That is, if I feel confident enough in letting my stomach sort of show!
