Honey & Lemon Foot Bath

I think most of us who love flip flop weather can agree that flip flops and sandals aren’t always the kindest to our feet. My feet have been looking a little rough lately with all the traveling and walking in sandals, heels, and flip flops.

Last summer, I tried a milk & sugar foot spa treatment , which worked out really well but I wanted to try something different so I began searching online for some at-home foot treatments. One of the key things I look for in these treatments are that all the ingredients are easily found in the home. I don’t want to have to go out and buy items for a foot bath that I’m going to use once and twice a year.

I came across this Honey and Lemon Foot Bath and it looked super easy so that’s what I went with! The ingredients are honey, lemon (of course), apple cider vinegar, and warm/hot water.

The honey attracts and retains moisture. Apple cider vinegar is an anti-bacterial remedy and muscle relaxer. Lemon removed dead skin cells.

The “recipe” calls for 1/2 cup of honey, but I just eyeballed it, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and it didn’t say whether to use a whole lemon or not so I just sliced half of a lemon. I filled a little basin I have with hot water, added the ingredients and soaked my feet for about 25 minutes while I read on my iPad.

It was very relaxing and the smell reminded me of tea or when I have a sore throat and I drink hot water with honey and lemon. End result? My feet felt nice and soft and relaxed. It was an excellent foot bath and at-home remedy without having to use a scrub or pumice stone. I definitely suggest giving it a try next time you want to soak your feet or try to remedy some of that summer dry skin!
