Brick & Portal is a recently launched social fashion platform where users can open an online shop curated with items you love from retailers such as Bloomingdales, Topshop, Rag & Bone, and the list goes on.
Founder, Anjelika Kour, reached out to me back in November inviting me to the exclusive launch and to create my own shop. Needless to say, I was super excited for this! I created my shop Jam’s Glam Pop-Up Shop – awesome name, I know 😉 but I have to be honest, I haven’t really been able to devote much time to setting it up the way I want or really pay a lot of attention to it. This has nothing to do with Brick & Portal, but I just haven’t dedicated much time to it. Perhaps merchandising is just not a passion of mine, but hopefully soon I can really make the space my own.
In the meantime, I have a little interview with the lovely Anjelika Kour to share with you all. She was nice enough to answer some questions so keep reading to learn more about this burgeoning company.
What is the goal of Brick & Portal?
Our goal at Brick & Portal is to completely transform how people go about shopping online today. We would like to see people go to stores where they have a lot more certainty at finding what it is they are looking for. We would like to twist the model and allow consumers to dictate what it is people are shopping for.
What inspired you to create it?
I was inspired to create Brick & Portal out of two things – recognizing a problem and identifying an opportunity. I was frustrated with having to sift through piles of merchandise online and offline to be able to find the things I liked. At the same time, for years, my friends and even just strangers have been asking me where I buy certain things I wear or just generally ask me where I shop – this brought me to the idea of curating merchandise from multiple retailers and hence Brick & Portal was born.
Have you always been interested in fashion?
I used to model when I was younger and have always been known to have a very unique taste in clothes and accessories. Fashion has definitely always been a part of my life from a young age.
What do you envision Brick & Portal to be like in 5 years?
I envision Brick & Portal to be a platform of choice for shoppers to shop their specified styles and needs. I envision every stylish person or person of a particular niche taste to have a store on the platform. Moreso, I envision stores being created not only with fashion as the main theme, but also people being able to curate book stores, homegoods stores, gadget stores, and so much more.
Thank you to Anjelika Kour for the invite and for participating in this little interview! Be sure to check out Brick & Portal!
