Emmy’s 2016: My Fashion Picks
Last night was the Emmy Awards (I just realized I can change the font color so I’m having fun with that) and as with many awards shows I’m rounding up my favorite looks I saw on the red carpet. Did any of you watch the show? Jimmy Kimmel’s opening was pretty funny. I love when award show hosts incorporate different shows/movies into their opening sequence. And how emotional and touching was Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ acceptance speech?
Let’s get to my picks and if I can figure it out I’ll post a poll at the end of this so you can vote for your favorite look.
First up, I love the color of Jane Krakowski’s gown. It’s such a bright, fun purple with a pretty floral design. I’m not a big fan of the studded detailing at the waist, though. It’s not that I don’t like studded detailing but I’m just not a fan of the colors and the rubbery look to the one on her gown. Also, can we just take a moment to talk about how amazing Jane looks? She never ages!
I love Kristen Bell and I love her even more in this Zuhair Murad Couture gown. It. Is. Everything. The taupe/light beige color, plunging neckline, and gorgeous floral print is gorgeous and whimsical. She looks flawless!

Sarah Paulson reminds of a Christmas tree in this Prada gown and I mean that in only good ways! There’s something eye catching about this plunging neckline gown with its textured material covered in beading and jeweled detailing.
Honestly, Emily Ratajowski’s gown isn’t my favorite, but there’s something so simple, classic, and sophisticated about this dress with the bow detail. I love the rich blue color too.
Constance Zimmer is a breath of fresh air with this Monique Lhuillier gown. The white gown with bright pink detailing is so light and summery. I know summer is about to end (calendar wise) but I’m not quite ready to get into the jewel tones yet!
I love the color and understated sparkle to Abigail Spencer’s gown. I think this gown would be perfect for someone like me who likes the idea/look of the plunging neckline but would feel a bit self-conscious. The best compromise is sheer paneling!

I debated whether to include Claire Danes’ Schiaparelli gown. I’m not completely sure if I love it or not, but there’s just something about it that I keep coming back to. I guess if you’re going to go with a gold gown you might as well go all in!
Were there any other looks that you saw and loved? My ultimate favorite has to be Kristen Bell in Zuhair Murad. The dress was absolutely beautiful and looked perfect on her.
Take my poll to choose your favorite!
