Niagara Falls
Exactly 10 days ago I was in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. I went with my family up to Toronto to visit family and we decided ahead of time to stop in Niagara (on the Canadian side) for a night on the way up. I hadn’t been to Niagara Falls since I was probably 7 or 8 years old so I wanted to see it as an adult. All I remembered from back then was wearing a poncho and getting soaked on the boat ride through the falls. We didn’t go on a boat ride this time which was fine with me. I just admired the view from above!
My family and I stayed at the Hilton – Fallsview Hotel & SuitesΒ and got a room with a view of the American and Canadian falls. After checking in, we walked down to the falls and took a bunch of pictures before it started pouring. In my YouTube video below you’ll see lightning! We went back to the hotel in the rain and that walk up hill really had my calves burning!
Shortly after returning to our hotel room the rain stopped and we were so lucky to see a double rainbow!
For dinner we went to one of the hotel restaurants, The Watermark Restaurant, which had the most amazing view. I’ll be writing up a post about what I ate there shortly!
After dinner we walked back down to the falls since the weather looked much better. Plus, I wanted to see the falls all lit up. They do a light show every night and it looks so pretty all lit up!
At 10 PM from Monday-Friday they have fireworks too. The fireworks show is only 5-6 minutes long but I love fireworks! Since we had such an amazing view of the falls from the hotel room we decided to head back to watch from there.
We had to leave pretty early the next morning to head to Toronto so it was a short trip to the falls but beautiful nonetheless!

My patents went to Niagara Falls for their honeymoon (way back in the 60s). I’ve never been, but I want to check out all the kitschy tourist trap stuff there. I’m a sucker for kitsch.

Definitely a lot of tourist shops! There’s a casino too but I didn’t have time to go in nor did I want to figure out the whole Canadian cash thing lol

There used to be an amusement park on one side of the falls (no idea if it’s still there). My aunt accidentally got in live for one of the roller coasters there. π
There’s some haunted house there too that supposed to be one of the scariest in the world. You have to sign a waiver to go through it.

Oh no I can’t do haunted! That stuff scares me so bad haha

Oh I love a good scare but I hate gore. I can’t wait for Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens again this fall.

Wow so beautiful, that is quite a view. The falls look so majestic, especially at night with all the lights.
