An alarm system can be a deterrent against opportunists as it can be a visual thing as well as system that raises a loud noise to let people know there is an issue. This could be a great thing for when you go on holiday or if you are away from your home for long periods of time. It can allow you to check in and ensure all is as it should be, and give you some peace of mind. Your home may have boundaries such as fences or bushes, but these areas of your home may not have been checked or repaired in some time. It could be worth looking at replacing fences, adding things like a gate to give you some extra security for driveways or pathways. It may sound like a simple thing, but again this can be very effective. It can also give you some extra privacy.

Finally, the other ways that people can gain entry is through the windows and doors, and if these haven’t been replaced or checked in a while, they could cause you more problems.
