Book Review: Don’t Lose Your Head

I’m a fan of historical fiction and there was a period of time that I was really into the whole Tudor/Henry VIII era. When I was asked if I wanted a copy of Don’t Lose Your Head: Life Lessons from the Six Ex-Wives of Henry VIII, I said yes because the book looked like a fun read.

The book is funny and incorporates real facts with some sass and insight as it is split up into sections told by all the wives of Henry VIII.

The book opens up with Henry’s mother and insights into why she raised her son the way she did. If you didn’t know, Henry was the 2nd born but his brother, Arthur, died and Henry inherited the throne. After that you can read from the perspectives of each of the wives starting with Catherine of Aragon, the beautiful Spanish princess who was originally married to Arthur all the way to his final wife, Catherine Parr. Read about all the dramatic events, politics, and scheming in between the two Catherines like when his beheaded his second wife, Anne Boleyn.

The book was a really fast read and great for any history lovers like me.
