Happy Labor Day!
I hope you are able to have the day off from work today. Even though I’ve technically been back at work for a week and a half, tomorrow is the first day with students and back to waking up at 5:30am. Normally I’d be really sad and dreading the return to work, but surprisingly I’ve very whatever about it this year. Even when I had to go back a week and a half ago I was like eh, whatever. I think it’s just been such a weird year and a half and then my summer was taken up with my health issue so it’s just been extra weird. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still not thrilled to wake up so early tomorrow, I just feel so indifferent about the school year starting tomorrow.
Anyway, traveling was still on the back burner this year with Covid. My family and I were supposed to go to Ireland last summer and thought we’d be going this year, but that didn’t happen. So the only place we went to was Vermont for a few days. I wrote about it here, here, and talked about the food (here). Even though I only went on a small road trip (about 6 hours away) and stayed just for a few days, it was still a nice time and I had the privilege of getting an amazing view from the top of Mount Mansfield.
Hopefully more travel is on the horizon for 2022!
For any of my fellow teachers out there also starting work tomorrow, good luck!
