James Wax DIY Candles

Last month I received a Make Your Own Candle Kit from James Wax and they turned out so good! When the company reached out to me they told me a few scent options to choose from. I chose rosewater. When I received the kit, it came with clear and detailed instructions making the whole candle process super easy!

I bought some small mason jars from the supermarket – the kit comes with the wax, wicks, scent, stirrer, and sticks (to hold up the wicks) but no jar or container for the candle.

First, you melt the wax either using the double boiler method on the stove or in the microwave. I used the microwave. Once the wax has cooled for a few minutes, add in the scent, and stir. I wasn’t sure if I should use the whole bottle of scent or not, but I accidentally spilled some of it so I didn’t end up using all of it. The candles smell really good so losing some of the bottle in the spill turned out to work out. Next, carefully divide up the wax into your jars/containers after placing your wick in with the sticks to keep the wicks upright. Then, let it sit flat for at least 24 hours before moving it and then for at least 3 days before burning it.

How cute are the candles?! The kit made 3 candles for me, one of which I gave to my bff.

The kit is a brilliant idea for a Christmas gift! I’ve linked to the kit via Etsy below!
