Book Review: Snow Place Like LA

Last Christmas I read A Merry Little Meet Cute and it was so funny, entertaining, and spicy. I’m in the middle of reading the second book in the series A Holly Jolly Ever After right now, but first I have to share the novella that came out between the two novels – Snow Place Like LA.

Readers of A Merry Little Meet Cute met the protagonists of Snow Place Like LA in that book – Luca and Angel. Luca was the wardrobe/costume guy and Angel is art student and son to Teddy – the head of the production company that makes popular pornos and is now entering the wholesome movie sector to make even more money. They have known each other for a few years with Luca having a secret crush on Angel the whole time. On the set of Duke the Halls in the first book, the two got together. But when Snow Place Like LA begins, the two have wrapped work on Duke the Halls and are headed back to LA. Will their time together in Christmas Notch, Vermont continue on in LA or was it just a holiday romance away?

Both have serious feelings for each other, but after some miscommunication and secrets they each think the other was giving them the brush off and wasn’t interested in pursuing a serious relationship. The novella follows Luca in the aftermath of all that and when Angel returns to LA the two have to determine if they can still work together, if they still have feelings for each other and if they can forgive one another for the things that kept them apart.

This was a really entertaining novella and so funny too. I love both Luca and Angel, but find Luca especially hilarious and ridiculous while Angel definitely grounds him and brings him back to earth at times. If you read the first book and were a fan than this was a nice visit back with highly entertaining characters!

Read this if you want a queer spicy Christmas romcom with the second chance romance trope!
