Book Review: The Serpent & the Wings of Night
I have finally started the Crowns of Nyaxia series! I read The Serpent & the Wings of Night and although it’s a big of a chunky book it was so easy to read that I was able to finish it in just a few days!

The novel follows Oraya, a young human woman who has been raised among vampires. After (most likely) losing her family during a war, she is taken in by Vincent – the Nightborn vampire king. There are 3 houses of vampires – The House of Night, House of Shadow, and House of Blood. Oraya has been training all her life, but will never be as fast or strong as a vampire. Her only chance to become stronger and not prey anymore is to win Kejari. Kejari is a deadly tournament held by the goddess of death, Nyaxia. Contestants from all houses compete in various challenges and the winner gets to ask Nyaxia to grant any wish for them. But they need to survive the competition and each other first.
Early on in the tournament, Oraya meets Raihn. He’s mysterious and an enemy to her adopted father’s crown, but wants to ally with Oraya. Can she trust him?
The book was so good! It was so easy to read which is how I was able to read this 480ish page book in just a few days. I found it really easy to follow too so if you’re not a big fantasy reader I think it’d be easy to get into as the world building was interesting but not too elaborate.
I love Oraya and Raihn. I love how strong Oraya is and how Raihn never underestimates her, but supports her no matter what. I don’t want to say it’s enemies to lovers because even though they’re technically rivals, they didn’t hate each other or anything and Raihn wanted to partner up with her pretty much from the beginning but she was hesitant. The ending definitely had my heart aching a little bit so I can’t wait to see what happens next for them in the next book! I’m going to read the novella first though!
Read this if you want a spicy fantasy romance with vampires.
