Book Review: The Dead Guy Next Door
The Dead Guy Next Door is the first in the Riley Thorn series by Lucy Score and was so entertaining!

The novel is a spicy romcom mystery. It follows Riley Thorn, a down on her luck woman in her 30s. She’s stuck in a job she hates because her ex-husband got her fired from her job. She’s also psychic. All the women in her family have psychic abilities, but unlike her mother and sister who embrace it, she’s spent her life trying to avoid it and deny her abilities. That is until, Nick Santiago, a hot private investigator, knocks on her door because he’s trying to find her neighbor and then she has a vision that her neighbor gets killed.
The story follows Riley, Nick, and her wacky elderly neighbors as they try to figure out what Riley’s neighbor was up to, who wanted to kill him, and try to survive being the new targets.
This book was funny, entertaining, and I loved the flirty banter and tension between Riley and Nick. They also have to be fake engaged for their investigation, which added to the fun. I loved all the characters and can’t wait to continue reading the series!
Read this if you want a spicy romcom mystery with the fake dating trope.
