Glimpse of Porto

It’s Labor Day, which is the unofficial end of summer even though I’ve been back at work for a week. Tomorrow is the first day with students though so it’s really the end of summer. Since I’m mourning the end of summer I thought I’d share one of my favorite photos from my summer vacation to Portugal.

I took this photo on my first day in Porto. We were eating lunch at the Mercado near where we were staying and when we were going up to the restaurant from the market level I decided to take the stairs. I was the only one since everyone else decided to take the elevator. Taking the stairs paid off because I got this view in between flights! I just thought the doors framing this beautiful view of the cobblestone street with gorgeous facade of the buildings across the street with its colorful shutters was just stunning.
