Book Review: Black Ties & White Lies

The Black Ties Billionaires series by Kat Singleton has been on my tbr for a long time and I finally read Black Ties & White Lies.

The novel is dual POV and follows Beckham Sinclair and Margot Moretti. Beck is a billionaire and the older brother of Margot’s ex-boyfriend. Margot is an artist with dreams of showing her work in a gallery but in the meantime working a corporate job. One day when she goes to work she is called in to a meeting with her boss. Surprised to find Beck there, she learns that he has bought her company just to talk to her. Gossip magazines have been writing about how Beck is a lady’s man and far from settling down much to the dismay of investors. Beck has a proposition for Margot – move to New York to be his assistant, travel with him on all his business trips, and after they’ve spent time together, be his “fiancée” for a year. In return, she’ll get to move back to New York, her favorite city, and he will connect her with his friend – a renowned artist/gallery owner. This deal sounds too good to be true for Margot. Can she trust Beck when his brother proved to be completely untrustworthy? Beck has secretly had a thing for Margot for years. Will his plan help Margot fall for him?

This was a really fun read and the spice was really good. The storyline and plot were okay – nothing really special in my opinion, however I did really like Beck and Margot so I have no complaints. It’s good if you’re just looking for a fun and entertaining read with spice and a hot mmc. I was into the vibe and plan to continue reading the series.

Read this if you want a spicy, billionaire romance with the forced proximity, fake dating tropes.
