Book Review: The Body in the Backyard
Continuing on with my Lucy Score reads, I read The Body in the Backyard – her latest Riley Thorn novel, last week.

In this latest installment in the psychic/private detective romcom, Riley and Nick are settling in to working together and living in their fixer upper mansion when their octogenarian next door neighbors and Riley’s former roommates end up having to crash with them because their roof collapsed. Their roommates aren’t the only interruption to their alone time – Riley’s very self-centered, out of touch with reality, ex-husband, Griffin Gentry has just shown up begging her to help him because someone is out to kill him.
With some convincing, since Nick could care less if something happens to Griffin, the two plus their team which includes Mrs. Penny, Brian, and Josie, work to figure out who is trying to kill Griffin and the list of people who want him dead is long.
I loved being back with Riley, Nick, and the team. I find their old roommates funny, but a little irritating most of the time (which I know they’re supposed to be) but they weren’t too bad in this book! I’d love more Weber in the next book though! And I really need him and Jasmine, Riley’s lawyer bff, to finally get together already!
This was a fun and entertaining read just like the other Riley Thorn novels and I can’t wait to see what the next one will be about!
