My Little Women Tote + Book Editions

When I was in middle and high school I loved getting reading lists in English class. Whether they were lists of what we’d be reading for the year or a list of books we were supposed to choose from for independent reading – it didn’t matter, I loved it. I don’t remember what grade it was, but I remember choosing Little Women to read one year – it might’ve been a middle school summer reading option. I chose it because I had heard of the classic before. Actually, because it was so long ago I don’t remember if I watched the Winona Ryder version from 1994 before or after I read the book, but I know I read the book and I know I watched the movie and loved it. I still have the vhs somewhere.

The point of sharing this is that I have loved Little Women since I was a pre-teen. I hadn’t thought of it in a long while until my sister-in-law and brother got me this pretty Little Women tote as one of my Christmas gifts. It actually matches one of the two editions of the novel I own – an illustration by the Rifle Paper & Co. artist. There’s a quote on the back of the tote from the book that I forgot to take a photo of, but I included it in my Reel posted (or posting, depending on if you’re reading this before I post my reel on Instagram!). So I have the special edition hardcover with the Rifle Paper & Co illustration on the cover and a paperback edition that follows the original 1868 edition with illustrations inside. Both make me have serious heart eyes!

I haven’t done a reread of the novel in years (decades most likely) and should probably do one soon. Maybe this summer!

Have you ever read Little Women?
