Book Review: Hexed
I finally read the last book in Emily McIntire’s Never After series – Hexed. This one is a spicy, twisted take on The Little Mermaid.

The novel follows Venesa Anderson and Enzo Marino. Venesa has lived with her uncle since she was a kid and her mother was killed. Trent Kingston is the most powerful main in the south. The head of an organized crime family that makes most of its money from shipping. Her cousin, Aria, is the same age as her and has been pretty much a big brat since they were kids. Venesa is now in her 20s and has been doing her uncle’s bidding for years.
Enzo Marino is the son of the head of the Italian mafia in New York. One night a few years ago, someone tried to kill him. When he woke up, he was told Aria saved his life. With their parents’ encouragement they began seeing each other and now the dads have arranged for them to marry and merge their powerful families. But little does Enzo know that Aria’s cousin, Venesa, that he is inexplicably drawn to is really the one who saved his life. Will the two be able to deny their chemistry?
This was a really fun read and I loved Venesa and Enzo. The tension was really good since the two of them had such a strong attraction to each other and unexplainable connection to one another, but knew they shouldn’t pursue anything with each other since Enzo and Venesa’s cousin are engaged and their families would go crazy if the two broke up and they would be even more upset if Venesa was the reason.
I’ve really enjoyed this whole series – some books more than others, but I still liked them all. Hexed was a great last book in the series!
