Book Review: Bright Lights & Summer Nights
Last week I finished the Black Tie Billionaires series by Kat Singleton with Bright Lights & Summer Nights. It was a fun read and a great end to the series!

The book follows Emma and Preston. Emma is best friends with Margo and Winnie. Feeling lost and like she doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life, Winnie offers for Emma to stay at her house in the Hamptons for the summer. It can be a place for Emma to stay in between jobs and figure out her next step. What Emma wasn’t expecting was to crash a party at the elite country club on her first night not knowing they were having a welcome party to a week-long wedding celebration for Preston’s sister and that she would end her first night in the Hamptons being part of a fake dating situation with Preston, a popular NFL player. She also didn’t expect Preston, who is friends with Archer, to begin staying in the guest house.
Emma and Preston spend the week pretending to be in a relationship and getting to know each other better, especially after Preston begins staying at the guest house. The more time they spend together the more the lines between fake and real blur and soon neither of them wants things to end at the end of the week. Can they make it work for real?
I loved this book and thought it was such a fun read for the end of the summer. I really liked Emma and Preston and the storyline. I wasn’t a huge fan of the third act breakup, even though it was actually one of the more believable and understandable reasons out of all the ones we normally see.
I’m sad to see this series come to an end, but Kat Singleton has her Pembrooke Hills series, which is a spinoff, and I wonder if any of these characters make any cameos?
Read this if you want a spicy romcom with the fake dating and forced proximity tropes.
