Quote from The Guncle Abroad
When I read The Guncle Abroad over the summer there was a quote that struck me in particular. It was fitting at the time because of world events – and sadly I don’t even remember what was going on during that specific week in July. But I saved the quote knowing it’d resonate at some other time as well. What’s even sadder is that this year this quote could be applied and be true at any given time.

“And what stories these days don’t have happy endings? They all do, because the planet is on fire and our rights are being stripped and we’re slipping into fascism and people need some distraction from their miserable lives.”
See what I mean? It doesn’t matter that I highlighted this quote back in July and now it’s late September. Unfortunately, it still applies and probably even more so than 2 months ago!
Side note: Give me a happy ending in a book or I don’t want to read it!
