Book Review: The Cinnamon Bun Book Store
I recently finished the second book in the Dream Harbor series by Laurie Gilmore, The Cinnamon Bun Book Store. I loved being back in Dream Harbor!

The Cinnamon Bun Book Store follows Hazel Kelly and Noah Barnett. Hazel has lived in Dream Harbor for years and her dad is the mayor. She is the manager of the town book store that often changes its name and is currently called The Cinnamon Bun Book Store. Noah has lived in Dream Harbor for the past few years and is a fisherman and runs charters/fishing trips on his boat. He’s also had a crush on Hazel for pretty much as long as he’s known her. It’s pretty evident to all their mutual friends and people in town, but not to her.
When Hazel starts finding secret messages in the books at the store, Noah offers to be her partner in solving the case. Why is someone leaving her messages (it seems like they’re for her at least)? And who would dare deface the books/stock? As the two spend more time together to solve the mystery, their attraction to each other becomes too strong to ignore. But Noah doesn’t know if Hazel wants a relationship with him even though that’s definitely what he wants. And Hazel knows that Noah doesn’t usually get into relationships and is known to have lots of short flings with tourists. Will the two reveal their true feelings to one another before it’s too late?
I loved Noah and Hazel and being back in Dream Harbor. The storyline was cute and their chemistry was so good. I do wish that that the whole not telling each other how they really feel/believing the wrong thing about each other had gotten resolved quicker so we could see more of them happy together and less time with both of them feeling insecure.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book and I can’t wait to get back to the town soon.
Read this if you want a spicy small town romcom with the friends to lovers trope.
