NYC: Dinner & Ghost Tour

Over the summer, US Ghost Adventures was kind enough to reach out to me and ask if I would be interested in going on a ghost tour. They have tours set up in cities all over the country including in New Jersey and New York. If you know me, you know I am a little afraid of ghosts, but the tours seemed really cool and when they offered me tickets for me and a few friends I thought it would be a fun experience! So I chose a tour in New York City to make an evening out of it and I decided to go in October for spooky season.

Before we get into the tour, let me do a quick highlights of my evening out in the city!

I decided to wear a black lace top for the outing because it looks perfect for a night out in the city going on a ghost tour but comfortable enough since instead of feeling like fall crisp weather out it still felt like summer. I also did my nails in a ghost design!

My friends and I headed into the city via train and since it was a really nice day out, we started walking down to the West Village to walk around, go to a few shops, and meet up with two more friends from the Tomorrow is Cancelled Podcast team for dinner at Codino – an adorable Italian restaurant with delicious food.

After dinner, we walked around some more before meeting our Tour Guide at the arch in Washington Square Park. US Ghost Adventures offer all kinds of tours and the one I chose was called “New York City Chilling Nightmares & Necromancy”. Since I am a scaredy cat, this tour was actually perfect for me. Before it even began, our tour guide, Marcus, said it wouldn’t really be scary but filled with history, which I love!

I don’t want to give away all the spots and really interesting information I learned on the tour, but here are a few photos I took along the hour-long tour! Side note – I will never look at Washington Square Park the same way again!

Our tour guide was fantastic. He was very friendly and was a great storyteller. I love that he shared different stories of different sites in the area we were touring. He shared different theories people have had and always left it up to our own interpretation – what we choose to believe about each story. It wasn’t scary, but some of the stories were definitely creepy!

All in all, the tour was a great time and I learned a lot that I never knew before. When I got home that night did I immediately sage myself? Possibly.

Thank you to US Ghost Adventures for the tour! I recommend a tour by them for any time of the year, but this time of year is especially fun for a bit of spooky.
