Book Review: A Cursed Carved in Bone
I’m not going to lie, but I read A Cursed Carved in Bone by Danielle L. Jensen, this week and I could not remember most of the details/plot of the first book – A Fate Inked in Blood. I only remembered that I loved A Fate Inked in Blood. But once I got into the book I started to remember the storyline and what was going on.

Side note: The book has red sprayed edges and shimmers in the light!
The novel picks up where the first book of the duology left off. Freya and Bjorn, who had started to fall for each other in the first book, are now on the rocks. Freya feels betrayed by Bjorn after she learns that he was sent to kill her. His mother, a seer, saw that Freya – due to her powers as a daughter of Hel – would be responsible for the death of thousands. Now, despite feeling betrayed by Bjorn and Bjorn doing everything in his power to not let the vision come true while also trying to win back Freya – they must work together to do whatever they can to avoid the vision from coming true.
As mentioned before, I didn’t really remember everything that happened in the book and I found the first half a little hard to get in to especially since Freya was so stuck on her feelings . But the story really picked up in the second half of the book and it was nonstop action, twists, and turns. The second half of the book really sold me on the book. The storyline is so good and I really love both Freya and Bjorn. They’re both great characters and when you compare some of the other characters to them it really highlights how good they both are.
Overall, I loved this duology. It was fun to read and there were so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming.
Read this if you want a spicy, fantasy romance with Norse/Viking mythology, and the enemies to lovers trope.
