Book Review: Wild Like Us

Wild Like Us is the 8th book in the Like Us series in Krista & Becca Ritchie’s second generation spin-off series to the Addicted/Calloway Sisters series that I love so much.

This novel follows Sullivan Meadows – daughter to Ryke Meadows & Daisy Calloway – and Akara Kitsuwon and Banks Moretti – two bodyguards that we’re familiar with from the first 7 books in the series.

Sulli is 21, an Olympic gold medalist in swimming, and is trying to figure out what her next goal/challenge will be. She’s also thinking a lot about how she is very inexperienced with guys and in relationships since she spent her whole upbringing focused on competitive swimming, even being homeschooled to focus on her training so she didn’t have a typical high school experience. In previous books we have seen a little bit of flirting between Sulli and Akara or Kits, her bodyguard. And there’s been hints of kind of flirting or crush with Banks too. Especially when she had her first boyfriend in a previous book.

Normally the three of them joke around a lot together, but things have been awkward ever since Sulli told the guys during a carnival night that she is so close with the two of them, and finds them both so attractive, that she would feel comfortable losing her virginity to one of them. Shortly after, Sulli has decided what her next challenge is going to be. She wants to free solo the same climbs out west that her dad did when he was younger. Now Sulli, Banks, and Akara will have to road trip and camp out together while Sulli likes her two bodyguard and them liking her too. Will they act on their feelings for each other? Will Sulli pick which one she wants to be with?

I really liked this book. I’m not always the biggest why choose fan, but I think it was done really well in this novel. I’m definitely more Team Banks than Team Akara. I found Akara a little annoying and eye roll inducing because he denied his feelings for Sulli for multiple books. And then once Banks expresses he likes Sulli, now all of a sudden he wants her too. But overall, I did really like this book and Sulli doing some soul searching. I got a little emotional in parts of the Banks storyline. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next and how their families will react to their polyamorous relationship.
