First & Forever
I know a lot of people have been doing their Fantasy Football drafts lately so it seemed the perfect time to share my review of Lynn Painter’s latest adult romcom, First & Forever.

The novel follows Duffy Distefano and Connor Cunningham. Duffy, her dad, and older brothers are all huge diehard fans of their local NFL team, the Coyotes. When the novel begins, Duffy has been a bit of a pariah in the Twin Cities because during a recent game she had an encounter with the mascot. He touched her inappropriately and when she fended him off the public saw it as her assaulting him. Coincidentally, Connor Cunningham, the Coyotes’ star tight end didn’t play that well that game and now everyone thinks not only is Duffy a mascot assaulter, but also a jinx! The novel opens up with Duffy on a talk show to give her side of the story and hopefully get the public to drop their pitchforks. Little does she know the show has arranged for Connor to be on the show too. No one expected the two to have natural chemistry and banter though. This leads to the public going wild for them. Duffy and Connor enjoy each other’s company and are attracted to each other. If they pretend to be together it’s good publicity for the Coyotes and it will make Duffy’s dad extremely happy. Can they pull it off? Will they fall for each other in the process?
This was a really fun sports romcom. I loved Duffy and Connor and the storyline was cute. The novel had the signature Lynn Painter banter and humor, which I’m a big fan of. The chemistry between Duffy and Connor was really good. I was surprised, though, that there were fade to black scenes because Lynn Painter’s adult romcoms are usually open door. I didn’t mind that it wasn’t explicitly spicy, just surprised. I still loved the book and am a Duffy and Connor fan!
Read this if you want a fake dating sports romcom with great banter.
