When the Rivals are Stranded in the Woods Together
I read King of Gluttony by Ana Huang months ago, but there’s one scene that stuck with me and it was a turning point in the story.
In the book Maya and Sebastian have known each other since they were kids and have been rivals pretty much their whole lives. When they get stranded in the woods together and have to huddle together by the fire to keep warm, the rivals start to become a little less rival-y.

“Don’t take this the wrong way. This is for body warmth.”
And then a little while later…
“”For what it’s wroth, if I could choose someone to spend my last hours with, I’d choose you.”
