Book Review: King of Gluttony

I read and loved Ana Huang’s King of Gluttony earlier this week. It is the 6th book in the Kings of Sin series and definitely one of my favorites. I dont’ know if I have a top favorite, but my top 3 are King of Wrath (Vivian and Dante), King of Green (Alessandra and Dominic), and this one which follows Maya and Sebastian. I do really like the other books in the series too but these are the ones I like the most.

As mentioned above, this novel follows Maya Singh and Sebastian Laurent. They have known each other since they were little kids and their families are good friends, but they have been rivals their whole lives. Maya’s family owns one of the largest and most successful frozen food companies and Sebastian’s family owns a high end restaurant group. The two have been competing against each other since they were kids playing games to being at the same Swiss boarding school and competing over grades and extracurriculars, to now in their professional lives over who is more successful.

Everyone in their families know they are rivals, but that doesn’t seem to deter their fathers from deciding their companies should do a collaboration on a gourmet frozen food line and the two will head it up. Now Maya and Sebastian have to spend a lot of time together to create this line, promote, and launch it. They may always want to one-up each other, but this time they’re going to have to work as team to make sure their collaboration is a success. The more time they spend together the more they realize they are the ones who understand each other best with their competitive natures and that there is a thin line between love and hate.

I loved this book and read it so quickly because I dind’t want to put it down. I loved Maya and Sebastian! They were both great characters and together their banter and chemistry was so good. Their fathers were a little annoying, but I guess you had to have some conflict in there! This was a really fun read and considering I liked but didn’t love the previous book in the series, King of Envy, I’m really happy I loved this one.

Read this if you want a billionaire romance with the rivals to lovers trope.
