Cars Land at Night
One of the top things my cousins and I wanted to do at Disneyland is see the lights turn on in Cars Land. Every night at sunset, the lights turn on in Radiator Springs and all the neon signs, buildings, and streetlights light up. And the music that is constantly playing in the background in “town” switches to “Sh-boom”. All I could find out online was that it happens at “sunset”. We didn’t know if that meant that time the weather app says sunset was occurring that day or is sunset a general time? Or is it a few minutes before sunset because the time on the weather app that says is sunset means the sun is already set at that time, right? Since we weren’t sure, we hung around on the main street of Cars Land starting 20-30 minutes before “sunset” that day. As we waited, the crowd started to grow and we knew it had to be happening any minute now. Every time the music changed we were waiting to see if it would be the song. And as we waited, we side eyed any super tall person who would try to stand in front of us like we weren’t standing there waiting before them (and that we’re short).
I think the music changed and the lights started flicking on either right at the sunset time or give or take a minute. It was worth the wait. Cars Land during the day is really cool, but at night it is amazing!
