    Updated Dress Down Friday Post

If you’re new or newer to my blog, you may not know that I’m a high school teacher and at my school on Fridays we can dress down if we wear our staff shirt. For the first few months of school, the shirts haven’t been ordered yet meaning I can have a true casual Friday. But by December, the shirts are usually in and I’m left to wear a shirt that is not flattering, a shiny kind of polyester, and despite always ordering a size small, is still huge on me. Anyway, back in December, I wrote a post about trying to make the look my own and pairing the shirt with…

    Polka Dot Layered Top OOTD

It’s a brand new week and I have a new OOTD for you all. However, it’s technically an outfit from last Friday. Maybe it’s wishful thinking on my part that it was still the weekend! So today I’m showing you a layered look. It is one piece, but looks like separates and I love the effect. Top: Loft Jeans: Loft Shoes: Keds Crash Back Slip-on Sneaker via DSW Watch: Fossil I don’t remember exactly where I got this necklace from, but I feel like it was from JCrew Factory. I loved pairing this necklace with the top, because the top has this casual, classy vibe with it’s grey and white combo. It looks classy…

    Casual Friday: Coral Stripes

Happy Saturday! It’s a 3-day weekend for me, which I’m super excited about. I have been looking forward to this long weekend for a while. This week was especially busy and stressful for me, I’ve got 2 big blemishes to prove it, but I kept up with the posts here because blogging never feels like work to me. In fact, it’s something I look forward to doing every day! Yesterday was sort of a dreary day. It didn’t rain until the evening, but the whole day was cool and overcast. Since it was Friday and there are still no Friday staff shirts in sight, I wore jeans, a sweater and…

    Floral Keyhole Top

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you’ll know floral is my favorite pattern. Some people might think florals are only to be worn in the spring and summer months, but I think you can wear them whenever! Anyway, this past Friday was another “dress down” day at work and here’s what I wore.   Top: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohls Jeans: Gap Booties:  Audrey Brooke via DSW Cardigan: Croft & Barrow via Kohls Watch: Kate Spade   The top has two keyholes which I think is something different than the norm and makes the shirt different. It’s amazing how little details like the placement of keyholes on a blouse…

    Sheer Poppy Print OOTD

I’m back with another casual Friday OOTD! Yes, another Friday that I can wear whatever (work appropriate) I want before I have to wear my school shirt. Good news is they still haven’t asked us for our sizes yet so unless they are just going off last year’s sizes (which I doubt since they ask us every year) I still have a long way to go before I am forced to wear it. The start of this week was definitely cooler and I had to wear a lightweight fleece in the early morning and night. Then towards the end of the week, really starting with yesterday, it went back into…

Bow & Bead Accent Stripes OOTD

I mentioned last week that Fridays at work are casual wear, which I greatly enjoy until our staff shirts arrive. I’ve been a little under the weather this week, just like pretty much everyone else I know, so I wanted to wear something easy. Something I could just throw on and still look cute without any effort really. Shirt: Loft Jeans: Gap Watch: Anne Klein I went with a loose grey shirt-sleeve top that has black horizontal stripes. The stripes have little beads and a few bows placed on the stripes which really dresses up the shirt. I was comfortable in the top since it’s a soft material and loose and didn’t have to sacrifice any…

    Casual Fridays

I love Fridays. Not only does it mean the weekend is upon us, but it means I can wear jeans to work. While I don’t mind wearing work clothes at all, it’s a nice change of pace after wearing business casual-y clothing Monday-Thursday. Sometime during the school year, my school gives us school shirts to wear on Fridays with our jeans. It’s usually a variation of the same shirt every year, which resembles a bowling or soccer shirt complete with our name either embroidered or printed on it. No offense to bowling shirts, but I’m not exactly dying to wear it for 8 hours every Friday of the school year.…
