    Monday Motivation

For those of you who don’t know, I’m a teacher full-time. I’ve been teaching online during this pandemic since March 18. I can’t believe it’s been almost 2 months! It’s really flown by, but at the same time it’s getting really tiring. I’m tired and I’m sure you’re tired too of the quarantine and the unknown. Sunday night blues aren’t exactly the same as they used to be when I was going into work, but there’s still that “Ugh I have to wake up early tomorrow for work.” On the upside, being “at work” every day from 7:30-4:00 has made my days go by fast and has kept me from getting…

    Halloween/Fall Tablescapes

I love sharing tablescape inspo with you guys mainly because it’s an excuse for me to scour the Internet for dreamy table settings. Usually I wait until closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas to share tablescape ideas, but I saw a few people doing Halloween tables and so I decided to do something more Halloween related and less Thanksgiving-y. Now, I have to preface this by saying I basically just chose tables that were more fall inspired rather than Halloween because I don’t really like Halloween decor. I like pumpkins and fun stuff like that, but that’s kind of fall too and not limited to Halloween. I hate and I mean hate the gory,…

    Secret Garden Inspo

When I was little one of my favorite movies was The Secret Garden. I haven’t seen it in ages so I can’t give you specific details, but I remember having it on vhs, watching it many many times, and loving it. Although, I remember parts of it kinda scared me – probably because it mostly takes place in a dark estate. Not to mention Mary’s (the main character) uncle is a little scary. Anyway, I loved the movie because of the big house that Mary explores and the feeling of mystery and magic when she finds and brings the secret garden back to life. The movie is based on the novel…

    Easter Decor

Happy Friday! And Good Friday to any of you celebrating Easter weekend. As this post goes live I am heading to the airport for my long weekend away! I’m visiting family outside Atlanta so no exciting sightseeing/tourist-y blog posts to come since I’ve been there so many times, but I am going to take some outfit photos while I’m there and of course I’ll do a food post next week! In the meantime, I wanted to share the one Easter decoration I have out on my buffet table. And I wanted to round up a few Easter decor inspo photos I found via Pinterest. I found this Easter egg tabletop…

Happy Thanksgiving + Thanksgiving Tablescape Goals

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope all my readers who celebrate have a wonderful day filled with time with loved ones and good food! The above photo is from my buffet table. I showed off my Happy Harvest sign in this post (here). Since that post I added these little glass gourds that my mom got for me. So cute! For the past 2 years I have shared some Thanksgiving tablescape goals/inspiration on here. I love looking at tablescape inspo. They’re all so pretty and fit different styles. I’ve decided to round up a few new ones I found this year. I found all of these photos from Pinterest. I love how…

    Christmas Tablescapes

As many of you know, if you are a regular reader of Life According to Jamie, I love looking at different tablescapes and home decor inspo posts. I’ve done Thanksgiving tablescape posts twice before (catch my one from this year here) and I did a Christmas decor inspiration post last year. This year I wanted to do a Christmas tablescape inspo post. I found all of these on Pinterest, but have linked to the website where the pin was from (or at least where it brought me when I clicked on the pin). First up, I love these gold, sparkling Christmas trees as a centerpiece with the mixture of levels…

    Thanksgiving Tablescapes

Happy Thanksgiving! Last year I shared some Thanksgiving table setting goals and I loved browsing the Internet to find tablescape inspiration that I wanted to do it again this year. So a few days ago I did a Google search and found a few tablescapes that I loved and would be perfect for a Thanksgiving table. I actually had to have my old post pulled up to make sure I didn’t accidentally choose the same table decor images from last year! This first one, I found through Pinterest. The pumpkin planters as centerpieces are so fall festive! They are like the pumpkin planters I made, but fancier and much more…

    Floral Arrangements Inspiration

I love flowers all year long, but once spring hits I like to have fresh blooms in the house as often as possible. I always enjoy looking at pictures of floral arrangements because they always look so beautiful and perfect, which is a lot harder than it looks. I think being a florist would be a lot of fun, although I’m sure really stressful if you’re doing weddings and big events like that. Today I thought I’d share some at-home floral arrangement inspiration that I got from Pinterest. Aren’t these all gorgeous? I can’t even pick a favorite. I love all the colors and different vases. There are so many…

    Photo Challenge: Inspiration

This past week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post was a little tough at first. The challenge was “Inspiration”  and I didn’t know what I wanted to take a picture of or use from my old pictures. It’s not that I’m uninspired by things, but that many things inspire me in different ways. Nothing I did this week particularly inspired me, at least nothing interesting enough to photograph, so I went through old travel pictures and this is what I came up with… I know the photo’s a little blurry, but I don’t have the original file readily available as I’m typing this up. It’s partially blurry just from being a…
