    Pointelle Babydoll Sweater

For a second after work yesterday I thought it was Wednesday and then I quickly remembered it was only Tuesday. But, today is Wednesday and we’re about halfway through the work week! If you saw my last nail post, you got a glimpse of this sweater in another color. I’m not sure which color I like better, but I do love the layered look and how each layer has a different design. The pointelle knit is perfect for this transition weather since it’s light and open-knit. The sleeves slightly bell out too for a nice little detail. I wore this green pointelle babydoll sweater with black jeans and my blush quilted…

    Layered Ruffled Peplum

I like a good oversized top as long as it’s flattering and doesn’t make me look huge. Ya know, priorities. When I saw this brown layered sweater with ruffled neck and peplum style, I loved the look of it immediately. It was sold out in my size (small), but I signed up to be notified when it came back in stock. And if you’re familiar with Red Dress Boutique, you know that their items often sell out quick so as soon as you get the alert that your item is back in stock you need to jump on it fast! So when I got the email, I didn’t waste a minute…

    Owl Love

Have you been watching the Olympics? I’m obsessed! As usual. I have been making note of all the exciting things – or at least what I find exciting – so I can do a roundup post at the end of the games. I don’t watch all the events so it really will just be what I find interesting. Anyway, let’s move on to the purpose of this post. There are some outfits that you put together in your mind last minute and you’re not sure if it’ll translate in reality as well as it did in your mind, but this is one of those that I’m very happy with! I…

    Photo Challenge: Layered

I’m so happy it’s Friday! I’ve been so tired all week and I can’t wait to relax a little this weekend. Last week’s photo challenge was “Layered” and for some reason I immediately thought of food. Then I just had to think of what kind of layered food I had a photo of that was photo challenge worthy. I decided on this photo I took from an intense seafood dinner at Fishman Lobster Clubhouse with family while in Toronto over the summer. They are famous for their mountains of lobster and crab. This is a photo of the tower of King Crab Legs we got! Isn’t that nuts?! Talk about…

    Mint + Statement Necklace Love

I’ve mentioned countless times on here that green is my favorite color – all shades of green. But, mint green really is one of the top shades if not the top. Mint green is the perfect spring color so I was happy to break out this lightweight sweater for a cool spring day last month. Top: Forever21 | Necklace: Nordstrom | Pants: Macy’s | Shoes: Kohl’s This sweater has a really lightweight and thin knit so it’s perfect for a cool spring day. The white button-down collared look is attached. I love faux layered looks because they look so smart and yet you didn’t have to actually layer on your own!…

    Plaid Layered Top

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’m a big fan of layering and I’m an even bigger fan of faux layering or tops that do the work for you. It makes me look super stylish when I really didn’t have to do anything! In today’s post, I’m sharing a look featuring such a top. Top: Joyus | Jeggings: Uniqlo | Necklace: Lia Sophia | Shoes: Skechers I love that this plaid layered top features peek-a-boo plaid slits on the side of the top and that the plaid isn’t just at the hem. I also really like that the plaid includes buttons so that it really does look like I layered a…

    Floral Peek-a-Boo

As mentioned a few days ago, I really like clothing that is pre-layered. Here’s another layered top I wore back at the end of 2015 when the weather was mild and my Christmas lights were still up. When I was at Kohl’s back in the fall I saw this blush toned top with a floral layer and immediately grabbed it off the rack. Why do I called it a peek-a-boo layer? Not only is it a an exposed floral layer at the hem, but you get a peek of it on the sides with matching floral ties. Top: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohl’s | Jeans: Express | Boots: Hunter Boots The top…

    Layered Racerback Sweater

If you live in the northeast (of the US) like me, I hope you stayed warm and safe yesterday during the blizzard. I’ll be writing a whole post with a bunch of pictures tomorrow of the 3 feet of snow (yes, 3 feet) I’m currently surrounded with! In the meantime, I have somewhat less cozy look from a few weeks ago when we were experiencing very mild, almost spring like, winter weather. It’s no surprise that I love layering and when pieces come pre-layered I usually love them. I mean, they basically do the work for me! Every once in a while, it doesn’t work because the layers don’t fit correctly,…
