Layered Ruffled Peplum

I like a good oversized top as long as it’s flattering and doesn’t make me look huge. Ya know, priorities. When I saw this brown layered sweater with ruffled neck and peplum style, I loved the look of it immediately. It was sold out in my size (small), but I signed up to be notified when it came back in stock. And if you’re familiar with Red Dress Boutique, you know that their items often sell out quick so as soon as you get the alert that your item is back in stock you need to jump on it fast! So when I got the email, I didn’t waste a minute – I went straight to the item and claimed one for myself!

I wore it a few days ago and wanted to take some photos of it for the blog. I envisioned a nice, spring day so I could wear my new white denim with the sweater, but it was rainy and gross out. It didn’t stop me from wearing the outfit I had planned out even though I did get rain/puddle splatters on my pants when I went out.

Sweater: Red Dress Boutique | Pants: Uniqlo | Shoes: DSW

I love two-in-one layered tops. They always look good and takes the guesswork out of you doing your own layering. I love the way this looks with the white denim – it gives it that spring freshness to it despite wearing a sweater. What’s great about these pants from Uniqlo, is that I ordered them online this time and you can actually have them tailor them ahead of time to whatever inseam you want! I believe I got these in 28 1/2. My gold metallic loafers were a nice pop to the outfit while staying in the overall color scheme.

So if you have been following me for a while you know I’m all about the comfort level of clothes. I’m always going on and on about something feeling super soft or cozy. Again, priorities. So, I’m going to be honest and tell you the inside of this sweater is not very soft. The outside of it does feel soft and thick, but the inside is rough. I wore a tank top underneath so it wasn’t too bad, but just letting you all know!

I hope the weather is more pleasant where you are!
