    Hamilton Viewing

I have been wanting to see Hamilton on Broadway for years. Once the majority of the original cast, including Lin Manuel Miranda were no longer in the show though, my desire wasn’t as great. But for a long time tickets were pretty impossible to get and when you could get them they were so expensive! I’m talking hundreds of dollars for an okay seat. So when it was announced that Disney+ was going to be airing a recording of the show from a few years ago I was so excited! The musical did not disappoint and I’m in awe of how all of the music, lyrics, dialogue could come from…

    Rent: Live (Sort of)

Did you catch Rent: Live on Sunday night? I watched it but since it didn’t end until 11 I wasn’t able to get a post up recapping my thoughts on it until today. So why do I have “Sort of” in the title? Well, when the show started there was a little caption in the corner that said “pre-recorded” and I wondered why. Was there something about the opening number that warranted it to be pre-recorded? After doing a quick search online I found out that one of the lead actors, Brennin Hunt, who plays Roger broke his foot the night before at the final dress rehearsal! It would later be…

    Anastasia on Broadway

I’m back to work today after a week off for spring break and I may or may not have been super down about it last night… In any case, I’m back today to talk about the Broadway musical – Anastasia! So Anastasia was one of my favorite movies as a kid and I was going to add it to my post I recently did about movies I loved, but I knew I was going to see the Broadway show so I thought I’d save my thoughts on the movie til now. I loved the movie when I was a kid and if you don’t know what it’s about I’ll give you…

    Wicked -The Musical

I love going to Broadway shows. When I was a kid, I used to go to one Broadway show a year. I went to one or two with my mom, but my aunt would take my brother and I to a show a year – a tradition. As I got older that tradition faded and I went to a few shows here and there over the years with friends. It wasn’t that I didn’t have time, but that so many shows are hard to get tickets for and it can be hard to find a person or people to go with. For years I’ve wanted to see Wicked, but when it…

    Grease: Live – Recap

Last night was the much anticipated Grease: Live on Fox and I for one was excited to see it. Although the movie came out in the 70s, the decade before I was born, it was still a huge part of my childhood. I watched Grease more times than I can count when I was little and had all the songs memorized. I distinctly remember belting out “Hopelessly Devoted To You” and dancing around my family room as the movie played. To add to my love of the singing and dancing in the movie, my aunt used to take my brother and me to one Broadway show a year since we are a train…

An Afternoon at the [School] Theater

It feels like only yesterday that I was starting off my post with the words “Monday again”, but somehow that was a week ago. I hope you all had a fun and/or restful weekend! The weekend flew by, as it usually does, but as I’m sure you all know there was a devastating earthquake in Nepal that has sadly claimed the lives of over 2,000 people. So before I begin with the cheerful part of my post, I’ll just make a quick note. It is so sad to see the devastation. When natural disasters like this happen, many of us want to know what we can do and where we…
