Restyled: Watermelon Plaid Henley + Pearl Embellishments

There’s a whole story behind this watermelon plaid henley which I briefly got in to back when I first shared it a few years ago. I love the colors in this plaid and since it is so thin and lightweight I wanted to get a wear in before it gets too cold. Since I haven’t shared it on here in a while I thought I’d restyle it from the way I last wore it on the blog. Last time I wore it untucked with taupe pants and light tan moccasin style boat shoes. This time I front tucked it in to pearl embellished distressed jeans, wore taupe booties, and wore…

    Pearl Embellished Chambray Dress

I love chambray because it is so soft and buttery to the touch. It’s got the look of denim but is so much softer and more comfortable. I saw some people getting in to the whole denim dress trend in the spring, which I thought was cute but I didn’t know how comfortable it would be. But when I saw this chambray dress with pearl embellishments I knew it would be comfy! The pearl embellishments are spread out and pretty simple – they just add a touch of elegance to this summer dress. But perhaps the real star of this piece is the ruffled back! Pearl Embellished Sweatshirt

Did you watch the Super Bowl last night? I’m going to be talking about that for a little bit so if it’s of no interest to you skip down to the 4th paragraph! So I’m so happy the Eagles won the game. I’m not an Eagles fan – I’m a Giants fan – but I can’t stand Tom Brady and as a byproduct the Patriots so I was really happy to see the Eagles win! The last 2 minutes had my anxiety levels through the roof, but it all worked out in the end! I really liked Justin Timberlake’s halftime performance. Being a JT fan, I thought he did a…

    Lace & Pearls

I’m officially on Thanksgiving break! So happy and the break was very much needed. So as many of you know already, this past Monday I did my winter professional photoshoot with Jaye Kogut Photography. Why winter already? Because I wanted to get the photos done before the madness of the holidays and before it got really cold out. It was already windy and in the 40s on Monday and luckily tolerable enough that I wasn’t shivering in my photos, but I can’t imagine trying to not look cold in my photos when it’s in the teens or single digits. So, we got the winter shoot out of the way and…

    Chunky Knits

Chunky Knits by lifeaccordingtojamie featuring pottery barn gallery frames Chunky knits in the fall and winter are my favorite. They’re so cozy and there are constantly cute and beautiful knits coming out. There’s no shortage of the variations out there from colors, lengths, fits, textures, etc. For this chunky knit challenge on Polyvore I chose this oversized green wool-blend sweater and distressed jeans. This could be a totally casual look, but I decided to dress it up with accessories. As you may know from my post the other day, I’m all about pearl embellishments right now so I picked a chunky multi-strand pearl necklace and pearl embellished slides. I…

    Bejeweled Oversized Tee

I remember back when I was a teenager and shopping with my friend, she pointed out that I had a thing for buying clothes that had sequins or glittered. I definitely am drawn to shiny things! But I don’t walk around wearing sequins and shimmery clothes on a daily basis. However, once in a while I do like to wear clothes that have some subtle sequin or shimmer. This oversized tee doesn’t have either of those but it is bejeweled. Just enough for it to be fun and pretty to wear, but not overly done to the point that it’s too much to wear for your average day. I wore this…
