    Monday Motivation

The other day while watching tv, I was doodling on some paper and looking up quotes. I came across this quote, which I think is perfect for a post-Valentine’s themed quote and also for some Monday motivation. “Dream without fear. Love without limits.” In the past few weeks I have made a more conscious effort to change up the photos I take. Not for every single photo, but in general I’m trying to think of more creative photos ideas. It’s fun for me to dream up ideas and try to make them happen. Not everyone is going to “get” your vision or what you do. They may not always be…

    Monday Motivation

Yesterday was International Women’s Day and March is Women’s History Month and today is Monday so I thought I would do a little Monday motivation post today using one of my favorite quotes. “She slept with wolves without fear, for the wolves knew a lion was among them.” – r.m. drake I may have shared this quote before, but I can’t remember for sure and I love it. I love it enough that if I have shared it before, I don’t mind. Women have come a long way over the years, but there is still a long way to go. This is some motivation to keep on pushing. Let out your…

    Goodbye 2016, Hello 2017

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful time doing whatever you wanted to ring in the new year. Whether it was staying at home or going all out with a night out on the town dressed to the nines, I hope you enjoyed it! This year I spent New Year’s Eve with a low key night at my friends’ house just hanging out and playing games. I wrote yesterday about how 2016 had its highs and lows and I am definitely ready to move on to a new year. So I’m literally saying goodbye to 2016… Sweater: J.Crew Factory and ringing in the new year with champagne and…

    “Their Eyes Were Watching God”

Their Eyes Were Watching God is one of those famous novels that a lot of people read in high school, but I never did. I recently finally read the Zora Neale Hurston novel because I was teaching it in my AP Literature class. The novel follows female protagonist, Janie, in early 1900s Florida starting when she was a teenager and following her into her 30s. We watch as Janie changes as a person and woman through the years and is effected by her own personal dreams and desires as well as her relationships i.e. multiple marriages. Her early years are greatly influenced by her grandmother who was born into slavery. Although we…

    Blair Waldorf Quotes

How is it only Tuesday? I’m feeling overworked and burnt out. On a day like today where I’m feeling like I can’t catch a break I look for something to brighten my day. Today, I decided to give myself a healthy dose of Blair Waldorf. I’ve mentioned it on here a few times before – I love Blair Waldorf. She is my favorite character from “Gossip Girl”.  Some reasons I love her are (but not limited to): her fashion, her intelligence, her drive. I also think her and Chuck Bass are my top OTP. Seriously, I love them. I might have to do a future post with my favorite moments of…

    Cinderella

The live-action film Cinderella came out last year and if you’ve been following me for a while you may remember my post about the designer “glass” slippers that were created to celebrate the movie. I only recently saw the movie and really enjoyed it. I love Lily James (I do hope she makes an appearance in this last season of Downton Abbey that’s airing now in the US). The cinematography and fashion is beyond gorgeous in this film. The colors are so rich and vibrant in all the sets and costumes throughout the film leaving me mesmerized by the beauty of it all. Everything was so beautiful and there were some…

    3 Quotes in 3 Days: Day 3

Today is Day 3 and my last day of the 3 Quotes in 3 Days Challenge! Thanks again to Tezzy for tagging me for this challenge, it’s been a lot of fun! Click here for my Day 1 quote and here for Day 2. I wanted to be a little more humorous in my last quote so below is what I chose. I think this quote is funny and the point I take from it is to strive to be an independent woman, to be able to take care of yourself, take charge of your own life, and not expect to be “rescued” by a guy. Don’t get me wrong,…

    3 Quotes in 3 Days: Day 2

I’m back with Day 2 of the 3 Quotes in 3 Days Challenge that Tezzy from The Tezzy Files nominated me for! Click here for my Day 1 post. I came across this quote on Pinterest a while ago and I pinned it because I really liked it. I think it’s an important quote to remember. We all go through tough times or setbacks in life, but it’s important not to dwell on these times. Learn from them, take them in, do whatever you need to do but don’t let it bring you down or define you. Remember the good times, learn from the bad, and remember to never give up!…

    3 Quotes in 3 Days: Day 1

Happy Friday! Tezzy from The Tezzy Files nominated me for the 3 Quotes in 3 Days challenge. If you haven’t visited her blog before, you should definitely check it out. She writes so many incredible restaurant reviews that always have me drooling and wanting to hop a plane to Dubai right away! The quote I chose for Day 1 is from one of my all-time favorite books To Kill a Mockingbird. I love this quote said by Attitcus Finch to his children about courage. Courage isn’t about having a gun in your hand or having more physical force than someone else, but to know that you’re “licked before you begin but you…
