    #fbf Flowering Tree Lined Street

We made it through another work from home week! How are you all doing? One of the things keeping me sane since I can’t go anywhere is going for walks when the weather is cooperating. I see people out on most days, walking or biking, when I go out but everyone keeps a really good distance from each other and people occasionally wave or say hi. One of the streets in my town is lined with flowering trees and when I was walking by early in the month I saw that the trees had started to bloom. I had to stop and take a photo because I thought it was…

It’s Almost Easter Bunny Time Again!

The aisles of your favorite shops are already filling with easter eggs and cute bunny decorations. Spring doesn’t start until it’s officially Easter. Indeed, depending on where you live, you could still encounter late March and early April frost and sometimes even snow. If you’ve been counting down the days before the official start of the spring season to plant flowers and take out your light dresses from the storage room, you’d better be cautious. But, the good news is that you’ve gotten yourself some extra more weeks for the official spring cleaning!  You can use the extra time to get your home ready with some elegant homemade decorations. If…

  • Holland Ridge Farms - Tulips

    Life

    Tulips @ Holland Ridge Farms

I’m a bit late with this post as tulip season is pretty much over, but better late than never! 2 weeks ago I went down to Holland Ridge Farms, which you got a glimpse of when I posted my striped midi jumpsuit, to see the tulips. I saw a bunch of photos of the farm online and wanted to see it for myself just before the season was over. It’s supposedly the largest tulip farm on the east coast, so I had to go! There were a ton of people there despite going on a week day and I should’ve worn closed toe shoes since it was pretty dusty, but…

Branch Brook Park – Cherry Blossom Festival

If you follow me on Instagram then you might have seen in my stories that I went to Branch Brook Park in Newark yesterday to see the cherry blossoms. The large park has a week long cherry blossom festival every spring and today is the last day. Obviously you can go any time while the trees are in bloom to see them – you’re not limited to this one week – but since cherry blossoms only last about 2 weeks you’ve got to be quick about it. Also the festival just means that each day there is some sort of special event to celebrate the cherry blossoms at the park.…

    #fbf Daffodils

My flashback Friday, #fbf, this time around is from just last weekend. I was taking some outfit photos at my parents house and I took a few photos of my mom’s daffodils that have just come out. I love daffodils and the bright yellow is so cheery! My parents get a ton of deer in our yard and they eat everything. But, someone recently told my mom that deer don’t eat yellow flowers – I haven’t looked in to why that is or if it’s true. But so far, so good!

    Photo Challenge: Awakening

Happy Friday! It’s still not feeling totally spring-like here yet. The flowering trees are blooming which is nice, but there’s still no leaves on the other trees. I’m still patiently waiting. But, since most other places in the country are experiencing spring it seems right that the photo challenge last week on The Daily Post was “Awakening“. A majority of the trees might still be bare, but spring flowers are available at the stores and I couldn’t help but pick up some tulips recently. Tulips are one of my favorite spring flowers. They are so pretty! They definitely remind me of Easter, which I always associate with the start of spring.…

Paddle Boating @ South Mountain Reservation

If you keep up on here regularly then you may recall my post about my dusty pink top with the sleeve cutouts. And you may remember my post about my meal at Roosterspin. So on that same day that I went to Roosterspin and I took the pictures of my cutout sleeve outfit I went out with my friend from the restaurant to South Mountain Reservation to walk around and we ended up going paddle boating. It was a beautiful, warm day out so I was slightly afraid I’d get weird tan lines from the cutouts in my top, but fortunately I did not. It was a nice outing and…
