It’s Monday and it’s back to the daily grind. As a pick-me-up to the start of a new work week, here’s a look at some beautiful looks from last night’s SAG Awards. As I write this on Sunday night, the weather report is for a blizzard to dump 1-2 feet of snow here by tomorrow afternoon! I know I said I wanted a snow day, but 2 feet?! So the impending snow storm I’m sure will cause my students to act a little crazier than usual today, which means this escape into haute couture is much needed!
Truth be told I’ve never actually watched the Screen Actors Guild Awards before but anytime there’s a red carpet packed with the most fashionable looks, you can bet I’ll be looking in awe at some of the styles. Here are my favorite looks from the night!
Joanne Froggatt is on my list again (she was on my list for the Golden Globes with her beautiful floral gown). She knocked it out of the park with this black gown and I love the cut of the neckline.
Julianne Moore is stunning in this emerald green Givenchy Couture gown. I love the color and the dripping of beading and sequins.
Emmy Rossum’s Armany Prive grey lace gown looks so elegant and wintery.
Camila Alves and her hubby Matthew McConaughey are such a good looking couple, but let’s focus on Camila’s gorgeous purple Donna Karan Atelier gown. I love the purple and the draping of the dress. The gown would’ve been beautiful without the cross-body draping too, but the draping just makes it even more beautiful. I think it looks especially good on her since she’s tall and slender.
Jennifer Aniston looks amazing in this antique gold gown with black overlay and plunging neckline.
For my final pick, it’s not actually from the SAG Awards, but from the Producers Guild Awards from the night before.
Jennifer Lawrence dazzles in this grecian inspired gown. I’m always a fan of the grecian look and Jennifer looks gorgeous in this gown. I love the silver beading detail, the neckline, the slit. Basically, I love everything about this gown!
There you have my fashion picks until the next red carpet!
