Estée Lauder – Perfectly Clean

Last year I stopped used makeup remover wipes (except for when I’m traveling – for convenience). I had read a lot about how those wipes can dry out your skin so I switched to oils and liquid removers. It’s better for your skin, plus it makes me feel like I’m helping the environment by not filling my garbage with wipes. Anyway, the two oils I’ve been using the past year are the Clinique’s Take the Day Off  and Mac’s Cleanse Off Oil. I wanted to switch things up when I was restocking recently and picked up the Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Triple Action/Cleanser/Toner/Makeup Remover

Estee Lauder - Perfectly Clean

First, let’s see how the product is described by the company:

“A revolutionary triple play for your skin: three-in-one cleanser, toner, and makeup remover. This refreshing, airy foam cleanser starts working immediately, melting away makeup—even long-wear formulas—as it thoroughly, gently removes impurities without drying. It leaves skin toned, balanced, and comforted with no oily residue, and it looks healthy, fresh, and luminous.

Triple-action clean. Triple the convenience. The Perfectly Clean Collection: Estée Lauder’s proprietary, next-generation cleansing technology calms, comforts, and clarifies your skin, reducing irritation that can accelerate the appearance of aging. It combines natural skin-loving botanicals and minerals with proven skin care expertise.”

What are my thoughts? I like it, but I don’t love it. What I do love about it is the smell. It smells fantastic! I can’t describe the scent, but it just smells amazing. What I don’t love about it is that it doesn’t seem to work as well as the Clinique and Mac cleansing oils I have used. It foams up and I feel like I’m using a lot more product compared to the other oils. It takes a lot more pumps to get enough product to feel like I’m actually getting my face clean when I massage it in to my face, whereas with the other oils I just need a pump and a half, maybe two pumps and that’s more than enough to massage the oil into my whole face and feel the makeup and dirt melting away. Perfectly Clean feels drier/less wet and after a few seconds it feels like I’m just rubbing my face, which prompts me to pump more out. I hope you get what I’m saying!

Anyway, I like it enough to keep using it to finish the bottle and like I said, it smells fantastic, but I wouldn’t repurchase it because it just feels like I’m using more product and doing more work.

Are there any cleanse off oils you would recommend?
