The Kylie Jenner Lip Kits exploded in the beauty world a couple years ago and I remember when they first came out they were constantly out of stock – they were that popular. I was intrigued, but not enough to sign up for restock alerts, stalk the website, or anything like that. In recent years I’ve also grown super tired of all things Kardashian so I wasn’t dying to get my hands on a lip kit. Nonetheless, I wouldn’t turn down a lip kit since people rave about them. So when my friend got me a kit in the shade “Candy K” for Christmas, I was excited to finally try it out and see what the hype was about.
The kit comes with a lip liner and a matte liquid lipstick. “Candy K” is a warm pinky nude which is perfect for me as that shade is right up my alley.
The lip pencil went on super smooth – no tugging and the pencil isn’t rough which I really appreciate. The only thing I wish was different about it is the fact that it’s not an automatic or self-sharpening lip pencil. You have to sharpen it, which I’m not a fan of doing.
The liquid lipstick goes on really smoothly as well and feels nice and cool on the lips. The wand is really nice and you can easily apply neatly. I didn’t have any issues with it going anywhere other than on my lips. It is definitely matte and dries matte within a few seconds. It’s also definitely opaque, so you only need to do one swipe to get a full color look. While it’s matte, it’s not drying which I know is something people always worry about with matte products.
I really love this kit. Now the problem is, I like it enough to want to buy some other shades (eventually)! I guess that’s not really a problem, but ya know – another reason to spend more money and it’s going towards that whole Kardashian/Jenner empire that I’m tired of. But I have to admit, it’s such a good product!
