I can’t believe today is my last day of spring break! It felt like it flew by and also was longer than a week all at the same time. It feels like I was in Georgia a while ago and not just a few days ago, yet I don’t feel rested at all. Ah well, hopefully this first week back will be nice and easy. Here’s hoping anyway!
On to today’s blog post. It’s no secret that I am not the best with hair. I can do the obvious ponytails, simple braids, and curl my hair. Since I’m not great at hair, I’m always looking for ways to change things up that are easy for me to do. So I was excited when Madison Braids reached out to me and asked if I’d like a braid! They sent me a braid in a hair color that most matched mine – dark brown – which ended up being the absolute perfect match. It’s a nice thick braid headband with an adjustable strap at the back or bottom (depending on how you’re looking at it).
I tried out the braid for the first time yesterday and it was so much easier than I thought it would be! First, I tried it on just to adjust the length and tightness. Then I used some volumizer/body builder in my roots so that my hair wasn’t too flat. I wanted to just leave my hair down and have the braid be a braided headband or crown across the top. I found it easiest to put my hair in a ponytail and then put the headband on. Then I took my ponytail holder out and fixed my hair to cover the strap and rearranged my hair so my part wasn’t showing.
I loved the way it looked! I’m so glad I have this now to rock a braided headband/crown look. I plan to experiment with it more and see how it looks with curly hair and maybe some other styles.
