Portland ft. Powell’s Books & Tilikum Crossing
On the first full day in Oregon last weekend we stuck around in Portland. I really wanted to go to Powell’s Books so we walked over there. It was as amazing as I imagined. I could’ve stayed there for hours browsing all the different rooms, sections, and aisles and going to the little cafe they have, but my family is not really into books like I am so my visit wasn’t very long. I decided to buy two books from my tbr list and went with the Greek Mythology retelling theme by getting Song of Achilles and Circe. And I got the cutest Powell’s Books tote bag!
Then, we drove over to Washington Park and explored the Japanese Garden, which was really nice and picturesque.
There was a multicultural fair going on in a park not too far from our hotel so we went there to grab some food from a food truck for lunch.
After that we drove to the Tilikum Crossing Bridge which is a bridge that you can walk or bike across, but not drive. There is a train that goes across though. We walked across and back and it had really nice views!
After resting up a bit back at the hotel we went to the waterfront for dinner. We shared mussels and calamari for appetizers. I had a really delicious pesto linguine with scallops as my entree. And we shared a chocolate silk pie for dessert.
