Book Review: Twisted Love
I have seen the hype for the Twisted series by Ana Huang for months and months and I finally read the first book in the series, Twisted Love. It definitely lives up to the hype!

Each of the books in the Twisted series focuses on a different couple. The four girls are best friends and the first book is about Ava Chen and Alex Volkov. Ava is a college senior and budding professional photographer. Alex is her older brother, Josh’s, best friend. When Josh heads to Central America for a year to be a medical volunteer he asks Alex to keep an eye on Ava for him. They’re not very close with their father and their mother died when they were young. Even though Ava and Alex have known each other for 8 years, they’re not close. Alex has never been particularly friendly and is even a little cold towards Ava. Despite his cold nature, he and Josh have been best friends since freshman year of college. Alex leads a busy life running his company and is literally a genius, but he promises Josh he’ll look out for Ava.
His looking out for Ava means they have to spend more time together and actually get to know one another. Soon their growing friendship mixed with the undeniable attraction they have for one another becomes irresistible. But, Ava’s past is haunted by memories of something from her childhood causing her to not remember things before she almost died. And Alex is keeping secrets from his past that directly affect Ava. Can they overcome these secrets and be together?
I loved Alex and Ava together. Alex is the perfect protective, alpha male who actually listens to Ava and wants the best for her. Ava is strong and good and she lets Alex help her overcome her fears and becomes even stronger. In terms of spice, this book has it. I loved that Alex was basically like yeah what you’ve heard about me is true. I like such and such, does that scare you? And Ava’s like maybe I like that too.
Anyway, I loved the book. It was so addictive. I can’t wait to read book 2 which is about Bridget and Rhys.
